Pregnancy Weight Gain Calculator for WordPress

  1. Edit the page where you want the calculator.
  2. Add a Custom HTML block by searching for HTML or typing /html.
  3. Paste the complete embed code, preview the page, and publish.

WordPress may remove iframes for users without permission to publish unfiltered HTML. If the calculator disappears after saving, ask a site administrator to add the block. Elementor or Divi users can paste the same snippet into the builder's HTML/code module. See the official Custom HTML block guide.

Pregnancy Weight Gain Calculator for Wix

  1. In the Wix Editor, choose Add Elements → Embed Code → Embed HTML.
  2. Select Enter Code, paste the complete snippet, and click Apply.
  3. Stretch the Wix embed element to the full column width and at least 850px high.

Wix only displays HTTPS embeds and does not automatically make its embed container responsive. See Wix's official widget embed guide.

Pregnancy Weight Gain Calculator for Squarespace

  1. Edit the page and add a Code block where the calculator should appear.
  2. Choose HTML, paste the complete snippet, and save the page.
  3. Check the published page on mobile and desktop.

Squarespace supports iframe code in advanced Code blocks on eligible paid plans. If it does not appear while you are logged in, check the public page in a private window. See Squarespace's official custom-code guide.

Pregnancy Weight Gain Calculator for Webflow

  1. Add a Code Embed element to the page.
  2. Paste the complete snippet, then save and close the code editor.
  3. Publish the site and verify the calculator at narrow and wide widths.

A suitable Workspace or active Site plan is required for Code Embed. See Webflow's official Code Embed guide.

Pregnancy Weight Gain Calculator HTML and iframe code

Paste the complete snippet into your page's HTML where the calculator should appear. Keep the iframe at width="100%" and the height generated by the builder. If your site uses a Content Security Policy, allow frames from https://pregnancysafeapp.com.

How the Pregnancy Weight Guidance Is Calculated

The calculator converts height and prepregnancy weight into BMI, uses the standard prepregnancy BMI cutoffs, and displays the U.S. population total weight-gain range for a singleton or twin pregnancy. Singleton totals are 28–40 lb for BMI below 18.5, 25–35 lb for BMI 18.5–24.9, 15–25 lb for BMI 25.0–29.9, and 11–20 lb for BMI 30 or higher. The twin totals shown match current CDC guidance.

For a singleton pregnancy, the rough week-to-date display starts with the IOM/National Academies assumption of 1.1–4.4 lb total by the end of the first trimester and then applies the BMI-specific average weekly range for the second and third trimesters. It is an arithmetic planning estimate, not a separate clinical target. For someone still in the first trimester, the widget shows the range expected by the end of that trimester rather than claiming a week-specific range.

Twin ranges are provisional because their evidence base is more limited. The CDC's 50–62 lb range for an underweight twin pregnancy is an observational-data exception rather than an original IOM twin recommendation. The general obesity range covers all BMI values of 30 or higher, but evidence is limited for higher obesity classes. These population ranges are not a pass/fail score; triplet and higher-order pregnancies are not supported and all guidance should be individualized.

Common Installation Questions

Do I need a WordPress plugin?

No. Paste the generated iframe snippet into a Custom HTML block. The same hosted widget works without installing or maintaining a plugin.

Why is the bottom of the widget cut off?

The complete generated snippet automatically resizes the calculator as it switches between the form and results. If a website builder removes the resize script, set its embed container to at least 850px high so the result and medical notes remain visible at narrow widths.

Does Pregnancy Safe receive the information a visitor enters?

No. The tool runs inside the visitor's browser. Pregnancy Safe does not send, store, log, or analyze the information entered into this widget.

Does the result tell someone whether their pregnancy is healthy?

No. It displays population guidance only. A prenatal care professional should individualize weight recommendations.

Why is only a total range shown for twins?

Twin ranges are provisional and the evidence does not support turning them into a universal week-by-week target.
